I slept in my car here so that I could easily get to the Standing Stones at first light. I'd already
visualised a panoramic composition, so knew what I had in mind. 4:40am and I got up to meet the rising
sun. There was just enough cloud to make it interesting; the mist I'd hoped for didn't occur. This was
the best panoramic style composition I could find without including buildings. The light was great, and
the long shadows added some drama. I was pleased with the sky after an unpromising cloudless start
